I've got another template sighting in the wild...

A German fellow named Kai is using the ClubDJ template for his site. He was very nice about it, and even showed me where to find it. Here's a quick screenshot that I grabbed of it:

It's amazing how far your templates roam.

Barnyard Goes To China!

Look what I discovered on the web this morning:

BarnyardTemplateChinaSmall.jpg

It looks like a Chinese hosting site has picked up my open source BarnyardBBS template. I'm happy to see that it's travelled so far.

Here's the link to the BestMoban's page. If you want to see a Google translation into English, click here. It's not perfect, but you'll get the idea.

Also, since BestMoban's link might break in the future, I've captured a large screenshot of the page for posterity. It's located here.

I've been pretty busy with site stuff lately.

The first item is a new web template, AmeriCorp. I've just added to the Templates section of the site. Originally, it was intended for a client; but when they backed out on the project, I thought I would share the work that I did with the world. Hopefully someone out there will get some use out of it.

Also, I've been working on some site stuff for my friend Lok-Kwan's girlfriend, Tamara. I don't have a final URL for it yet. It's setup temporarily here. I'm waiting to hear her reaction to it. I made multiple layouts while I was at it, just to see how it looked. Check out the footer in order to switch templates.

BarnyardBBSClassic.jpgI've been working on web templates a lot lately. I've even started contributing to OpenWebDesign.org.

I've completed two of them thus far:
They have been posted to OpenWebDesign; but I've also included copies of them here on Barnyard, in the Projects section of the site. I will likely add more as I create them, but this is a good start.

I realize that Barnyard has been inactive for a while. I've been working quietly on some major updates to the site.

Barnyard has been completely re-done, with many new features. Here is a quick list of the improvements:

  • Entirely XHTML 1.1 / CSS
  • All code is now ASP.Net 2.0
  • New Photo Engine (with new sizing and downloading options)
  • New Blogging Engine
  • New Skinning possibilities
I'm still working out all the details, but things should be stable soon. I still need to migrate the old blog posts to the new engine.
